Ten Toronto startups will participate in the C100 “48 hrs in the valley” program
From June 8th to 9th, a group of Canadian startups will be heading down to San Francisco to participate in the C100 “48 hrs
in the valley” program. While they are in the Silicon Valley for just two days, all of the participating Canadian startups will get the chance present to the C100′s Charter Members, which are a group of seasoned technology executive mentors. Many will also pitch to VCs at the Plug and Play EXPO on the second day for a chance to secure future partnerships.
The tentative agenda for the program has been posted on the C100 website.
I caught up with a few of the Toronto startups who will be heading down next week, to find out why this is such an important opportunity for them. According to Roy Perreira, founder and CEO of Toronto startup Shiny Ads, "C100 is a great organization that has a history of connecting the best with the best - Canadian entrepreneurs with partners in Silicon Valley.”
While Shiny Ads has received a lot of accolades and investor attention already for their self-service advertising platform, there are many other Toronto startups attending the C100 program that are just getting into the game. Exclusive VIP social network The Royal Few will be launching later this month but they are already generating advertiser, media and celebrity attention.
In addition, Toronto startup Big Time Design will introduce their latest product Pulse to the US market. Pulse is a permission-based communications system that delivers measurable, direct messages to email, social media and mobile applications. “The opportunity to pitch Pulse in a new market is really exciting. It’ll be interesting to see if we can drum up the same level of interest down in the valley as we’ve seen up here,” says Ameet Wadhwani, Partner at Big Time Design.
