Thalmic Labs Launches Myo Market, Hits 100 Apps for Armband

Thalmic Labs this week fully released the Myo Market, now out of beta.

The Canadian company also noted that the Myo Market now has more than 100 applications for the Myo armband.

The Myo armband reads the electrical activity of your muscles and the motion of your arm to let you wirelessly control digital technology.

“One of the best decisions we’ve made with the Myo armband was opening the SDK to third party developers to continue expanding applications in the Myo Market and discover new applications users are interested in,” said Stephen Lake, CEO of Thalmic Labs. “The Myo Market showcases much of the exciting development that has been taking place and the many options people have for controlling their digital world with Myo, whether it’s controlling your EZ-Robot or creating music with your hands.”

Applications are categorized as one of Connected Things, Games, Tools and Productivity, Multimedia, or Presentations.

Thalmic was founded in 2012 by three graduates of the University of Waterloo’s mechatronics engineering program.
