The Authorized Biography That Steve Jobs Never Read: Publish Date Pushed Ahead in Response to Demand

When Walter Isaacson got the green light to author the first-ever authorized biography of Steve Jobs, something tells me he didn't expect it to be published after Steve Jobs' death.

Originally slated for March 2012, publisher Simon & Schuster pushed it ahead to late November a while ago—but upon Steve's passing, has changed the date a month ahead due to swelling demand. You can now get it as soon as October 24 (although Amazon.ca hasn't yet updated its date, Amazon.com has).

Steve cooperated fully in the book's production but had no control over the content. In fact, he never requested to read it before it was published—which means this authorized biography was never read by the man it's about, nor will it ever be. This makes the book far more special than it was to begin with and one can only imagine many copies will be sold.

The 656-page biography has been expanded from its original form. Originally titled "iSteve: The Book of Jobs," it is now called simply "Steve Jobs: A Biography," with an Apple-esqe simplicity in its cover design.
