The OPP comes to Twitter

Everyone who travels the highways in Ontario knows who the Ontario Provincial Police are but now you can find them on twitter too. The OPP is just the latest police agency to get onto social media with a twitter account (@OPP_News). They will be using the micro blogging site to release news and other messages.

It will be interesting to see how they integrate twitter into their communications and if they will use the 2 way nature of the medium to talk with people who respond to them through the service. Glad to hear that they are entering this space and looking forward to seeing how their usage of it evolves from here on out.
