Vancouver’s fundfindr Media Inc. launched their Pitchies contest this week, inviting entrepreneurs to submit elevator pitch videos for the chance to win a prize package worth $20,000. Contestants are eligible to win prizes in two different contest streams - the Expert’s Pick or People’s Choice round.

The Expert’s Pick winner grabs a prize package worth $20K that includes a professionally produced corporate video, mentorship meetings and a bundle of start-up services. 2nd prize gets a services package worth $3,500.

The Expert’s Pick Awards will be judged by a panel of entrepreneurial experts including Angel and Techvibes Guest Contributor Basil Peters, Sitemasher CEO Ron Moravek, Nintendo Canada GM Ron Bertram, UBC Professor of Entrepreneurship Thomas Hellmann, and Business Objects Executive Vice President Greg Wolfe.

The People’s Choice winner will be selected by popular vote online (think Dragon’s Den meets YouTube) and the winner gets round-trip airfare to Vancouver, BC, one night in a Vancouver hotel, a two-night Whistler weekend, and a bundle of start-up services with a total value of around $4,000.

Entrepreneurs can submit their video pitches for the Pitchies contest online here.
