Drake, the young and popular Canadian rap artist, yesterday tweeted that "the first million is the hardest" to his 7.4 million Twitter followers. Nothing out of the ordindary there. Drake is rich and likes to self-reflect.
But then something crazy happened. T. Boone Pickens, the abstractly named old white Texan oil magnate, tweeted back: "The first billion is a helluva lot harder."
Where else could—or would—these two people exchange words in the world, save for Twitter? And Drake even made a conversation out of it, acknowledging that "@BoonePickens just stunted on me heavy."
Ah, the wonders of modern social media.
