This Smartphone Will Destroy Everything You Own

Have you ever wondered what would happen if you launched your smartphone through an egg and a cake? No? Hmm… how about some Coke and a bag of popcorn? Still no, eh?

If you haven't been waxing hypothetical on such subject matter, Rogers at least has done so for you. The telco last month launched a YouTube-based campaign called Rogers Presents Motorola Razr VS. The first video, titled "VS. The Baker's Dozen," saw the smartphone launch from an air cannon to explode through an egg and slice through a cake. More recently, the device has burst through pop and popcorn in "VS. The Movies."

The Razr's slogan for the series is "Impossibly thin, impossibly powerful," although the latter is pretty literal in this context. While the videos have been well-received due to the WTF factor, they do fail to actually convey what the Razr is or does. I mean, it would be nice to have a phone with good specs and a smooth operating system rather than one that ruins my food. For example, the Razr is made of Kevlar fibre and Gorilla Glass instead of the usual cheap plastics found on Android gadgets. But it's impossible to know this from the ad—which is a shame, because that's a pretty relevant component to the whole blasting-through-objects concept.

But forget the Razr for a moment. The real question of importance is, where does one pick up one of those awesome air cannons?
