This Valentine’s Day the way to a woman’s heart is with a Smartphone
Still in need of a Valentine’s Day gift for your sweetheart?
Forget the candy and flowers, consumer electronics are where it’s at. A new study confirms both men and women would likely swoon over receiving a new gadget from their valentine.
The US Consumer Electronics Association says women especially are interested in new devices, according to a recent study called “The Truth about Women and Consumer Electronics.” Eight in 10 women express an interest in consumer electronics products, and 41% say they are “very interested” in consumer electronics. This is an increase of 10 percentage points from the previous study in 2007.
According to the study, women are less likely to claim sole ownership of some devices, such as TVs and DVD players, considering them “household” devices. But when it comes to connected gadgets such as ereaders and smartphones, women are more likely than men to claim sole ownership.
“This Valentine’s Day, the way to a women’s heart just might be through electronics,” said CEA research manager Jessica Boothe. “Women want technology more than ever and they view electronics as very personal devices that can be toted around and customized with private information."
