Three Billion Apps Have Now Been Downloaded from BlackBerry World, RIM Says

Waterloo's Research In Motion has revealed that its app store, the BlackBerry App World, has reached a milestone of three billion app downloads.

“Three billion app downloads averages out to over 2.5 million downloads each day,” said RIM.

The Canadian company added that, “what’s even more important and impressive is that the number of daily downloads continues to increase." RIM notes that "it took 786 days to reach the one billion mark, 210 days to reach two billion, and only 176 days to reach the three billion number.”

Apple's App Store, with more than 650,000 apps available, has seen over 30 billion app downloads. Google's Play Store, meanwhile, has more than 15 billion downloaded apps to its name.
