Today is the last day to apply to Driven, a Toronto-based accelerator that now operates on a non-profit organization structure.
Driven is a mentorship-focused startup accelerator designed to provide training, support, and resources to under-represented minorities in Canada's digital technology space. The accelerator says it wants to change the world "into one that has more creators, not just consumers."
Young women and visible minorities make up a small percentage of the founders in Toronto. The goal of our company is to provide entrepreneurial opportunities to women and minorities that were not readily available due to gender biases, ageism and social constraints. We want to give women and visible minorities the opportunity to become innovators and producers.
"We realize this new generation of startups requires exposure, tailored business support, mentorship and access to funding," the organization explains. "This is why we built the most fascinating, dedicated and innovative cohort that meets the needs of minority led startups. We are a passionate group of entrepreneurs, that invest in people first."
So if you're a digital startup based in (or willing to relocate to) Toronto, founded by a minority, with a team of two or more people, and in possession of passion and tenacity, consider applying. Deadline is midnight tonight.
