Toronto's GreenOwl Mobile Launches Beta in Vancouver

Toronto-based startup GreenOwl Mobile, the developer of real‐time mobile traffic platform TrafficAlert, announced the Vancouver beta launch of its voice‐based traffic app at the DX3 Canada trade show. The free iPhone, Android, and BlackBerry app constantly monitors traffic on a driver’s route and provides voice and visual alerts to traffic situations ahead. It also allows users to notify others of new incidents as they happen.

“TrafficAlert, under various media brands including CP24 TrafficAlert and Rock 95 TrafficAlert, has had more than 100,000 downloads in just over a year in Toronto," said GreenOwl Mobile CEO Matt Man. "We are pleased to be launching a beta version of the app for the Vancouver market."

Being a major city—and one of the few without any sort of freeway or highway running through its core—Vancouver's roads are an endless source of frustration for drivers. TrafficAlert aims to ease the pain as much as possible.
