In August of last year, The Working Group, a Toronto-based web development agency, launched a new product called PostageApp. The inspiration for the product came from a company retreat where the employees agreed that transactional e-mail management (i.e. event-based e-mails like when someone wants to re-set their password quickly) was a big pain point for their customers.
“We wanted to make it easy for our customers to send personalized, transactional, or event-driven emails,” says Jon Lim, Product Manager for PostageApp. According to Lim, Toronto startups like My City Lives, Rocketr, Pinpoint Social and Please Stay Calm have been using the new platform to date.
Today, the company has announced the launch of a new e-mail delivery engine – making PostageApp an end-to-end e-mail solution. “After launching the first iteration of our product, we realized that the deliverability aspect was a big challenge for our customers,” says Lim. PostageApp now boasts that it takes the complexity out of sending e-mail from web apps.
According to Lim, the new product will make e-mail delivery much faster and more seamless by offering better workflows, performance, scalability and reliability. PostageApp will also offer behavioural analytics functionality with this new product release, including reports on the number of opens, clicks and bounces for each individual e-mail.
“E-mail is such a big part of a website, and we don’t want our customers to be wasting time thinking about all of the moving pieces,” says Lim.
The new product release will also coincide with the announcement of two new payment plans – focused mainly on large volume e-mail delivery. The higher volume plans will allow users to send larger batches for less money. The lower volume plans will remain at the same price point and volume for now.
