Toronto's Pushlife acquired by Google for $25 Million
StartupNorth just reported that Toronto's PushLife has been acquired by Google for a reported $25 Million. The news was first tweaked by fellow Mantella portfolio company Chango.

PushLife is a Mobile Entertainment Platform for Mobile Operators that enables users to extend their existing iTunes and Windows Media Player libraries to their non-Apple phones. PushLife helps Mobile Operators defend against disintermediation while increasing ARPU by providing users an unparalleled mobile entertainment experience driving significantly increased content purchases.
With PushLife, users can play, organize, and purchase music, videos, wallpaper, games and ringtones easily and quickly from their phone. Unlike other mobile applications, users can play and manage their entire music library from their phone, create and edit playlists, share their listening experience with friends, and discover, preview and purchase new music, all while listening to their favorite songs.
This makes Pushlife the fourth Toronto company acquired by Google of late. Bumptop was acquired in May of last year, SocialDeck was acquired in August and Zetawire was acquired in December.
PushLife was started by former RIM employee Raymond Reddy. In September Techvibes reported that Reddy had increased his staff to 30 and was working on a deal with a major US carrier.
PushLife is one of Mantella Venture Partners' two investments, the other being office-mate Chango.
