Torstar Digital will cease to exist in its current form as Torstar Corp. plans to fold the subsidiary into other divisions of the company.
While a spokesperson has stated that nothing is being shut down as a result of the shuffling, roughly 10 senior managers will be laid off.
According to an interview with The Globe and Mail, Torstar's "internal reorganization" is aimed at simplifying the management structure of the company.
Canadian daily deals site WagJag, which is owned by Torstar Digital, will be moved to Metroland Media, a collection of local papers across Canada.
According to Torstar spokesman Bob Hepburn, Torstar Digital's 200 employees will remain employed in their current Toronto office "for the foreseeable future."
