Tungle CEO named Top Entrepreneur and Geek on a Plane

In advance of Startup Camp Montreal 6 this evening, event organizers have announced that Tungle CEO Marc Gingras has been named top Montreal entrepreneur by his fellow startup peers.

The vote was held to give away a prize for one deserving entrepreneur to travel on the Geeks on a Plane mission to Asia.

Geeks on a Plane was created by Dave McClure as a business travel and cultural exchange comprised of Silicon Valley, US & International entrepreneurs, techies, investors, and bloggers.

McClure is a guest speaker at this evening's Startup Camp Montreal 6 and offered the Montreal startup community one of the seats in their upcoming Asian tour.

Sixty entrepreneurs were initially nominated. Thirty of Montreal's most connected "Gurus" voted and brought the list of nominees down to five. Other nominees included Bruno Morency of DokDok, Sebastien Provencher of Praized Media, Evan Prodromou of StatusNet and Frederic Guarino of Keenkong.

Each entrepreneur was then asked to create a video as to why they should be chosen. The final vote was then handed over to the Montreal startup community and Gingras got the plane ticket.

Techvibes is still looking for a Montreal Community Manager, so if you're interested in attending and writing about events like tonight's Startup Camp Montreal, get in touch soon.
