Twitter Hires Goldman Sachs Banker as CFO, Looks to Acquire Mobile Ad Company for $100 Million

Twitter has hired former Goldman Sachs Group banker Anthony Noto as chief financial officer. Noto—who actually uses the social network—led the Silicon Valley in its initial public offering.

A star football player in college at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, Noto last served at CFO with with National Football League. Noto, 46, will earn a salary of $250,000, plus a one-time stock award of 1.5 million restricted shares vesting over four years (worth $64 million at today’s prices).

In other Twitter news, the company is spending nearly $100 million to acquire mobile-advertising company TapCommerce, according to reports across the web citing cources "with knowledge of the matter." TapCommerce specializes in mobile advertising, something that Twitter is eager to get into as the company looks to boost revenue.
