Three Canadian Startups Are Finalists for Mashable Awards [UPDATED]
Mashable recently announced the finalists of the 2011 Mashable Awards. Among them are three Canadian-born startups.
Edmonton-based Empire Avenue, a social influence stock market, is a finalist in the category "Up-and-Coming Social Media Service," which "honors the readers’ choice for the social media service that is currently experiencing major growth but has not yet received massive mainstream attention." Summify, based in Vancouver, is also a finalist in this category. Summify takes the oceans of content flooding users' various social networks and turns it into a short digestable summary of relevant stories.
Last but not least, Toronto's XMG Studio is the maker of Cows vs Aliens, which is a finalist for "Best Mobile Game," which "honors the readers’ choice for the best game designed for play on either a smartphone or tablet."
If you want to support Canadian startups, you can vote until December 16th. Winners will be announced on December 19th.
