Union Station: all AVATAR-ed out

I had a dream last night where I was extraordinarily tall and that my blue skin camouflaged so well with my glow in the dark surroundings that I didn’t really need clothing. My entire fashion prowess floated up into the hot pink mist and was replaced with a yearning to fly gracefully on a dragon-like being.

It wasn’t a dream though. I was just walking through Union Station and there was the Home Tree and a huge blue face staring up at me from the floor.

To promote the up and coming AVATAR release on Blu-ray and DVD on April 22nd, 20th Century Fox has transformed the Toronto Union Station (main station) into Pandora as in the planet from AVATAR. The main station will be covered (floor, platform, walls, ceilings etc.) with humongous 3M vinyl and poly banner images of AVATAR.

Although there will be no cool 3D effects in the actual display, the to-be-released Blu-ray/DVD version promises to have the best possible colours, lighting and experience. It is also the highest compression possible on a disc; every possible ounce of disc space was used.

Have you seen Union Station yet? What did you think? Are you planning on buying the DVD?
