RIMUnited Arab Emirates has lifted its looming ban on Research in Motion's Blackberry services.

The ban was set to take effect on Monday, and would ban all Blackberries from email, BBM, and web services. It would have affected more than half a million native residents, plus any travellers with the devices.

The ban was lifted on account of the UAE reaching an agreeable deal with RIM, a deal that is widely believed to be a permanent or at least long-term solution.
