Calgary's Multiplied Media announced today that its BlackBerry Developer Challenge winning Poynt application, has surpassed 400,000 users. Even more impressive are their reports that every day, between 10 and 15 percent of Poynt's user base is active, performing an average of two queries each. The weekly return user number averages 40 percent and over 75 percent of users used Poynt in the month of April, generating over 1.5 million queries.
Impressive numbers considering a February 2009 report by Pinch Media titled iPhone AppStore Secrets. The report claims that free iPhone App usage drops to 10 percent after one week, only four percent after one month, and long-term audiences of average iPhone applications generally diminish to one percent of total downloads.
