logo_pv.pngVia Miss604 and Raincity Studios comes word of ChangeEverything.ca being nominated for a Webby Award in the category of Connections - Social/Networking. ChangeEverything is an online community site built around encouraging social change, sponsored by Vancity and developed by Vancouver firm Social Signal. ChangeEverything is currently in third place, behind social networking heavyweights Facebook and Bebo, but ahead of social browser Flock and social-network-for-everything Ning. Overall, an impressive feat for a locally targeted site. Cast your vote for ChangeEverything, or dozens of other sites, at the Webby Awards People's Voice.

Elsewhere in the web awards space, the winners of the Webware 100 have been announced; unfortunately none of the Canadian nominees we mentioned previously won. Of the winners, about 60% are big-name sites, 30% smaller start-ups, and 10% non-profit. Congratulations to the winners, especially those that aren't Microsoft, Google, or Amazon properties.
