Vancouver 2010's Canada CODE Launching Soon

To celebrate the Vancouver 2010 Olympics and as a part of the Cultural Olympiad initiative, Canada CODE, a new online property is launching on April 28, 2009.  CODE is a digital collaboration of commissioned Canadian artists and ordinary Canadians to create a Canada wide art project.

CODE is a suite of programs that extends the celebration of Canadian culture and talent into the digital sphere, increasing connections with audiences and participants nationally and internationally.

Canadians are asked to participate in the Canada CODE by contributing photos and text about their lives, city or neighbourhood.  The goal?  To create a unique picture of contemporary Canada for the world to see.

Later in 2009 we’ll also be launching a series of projects creating an online spotlight for various communities of Canadian talent.

CODE is being developed by input from several arts and new media sectors across Canada–sounds like a very colourful online art project!
