Vancouver-born iPhone app Gas Runner tells you the real cost of gas in U.S.

With gas prices in Canada so ludicrously high, Canadians are always looking for a way to shave some pennies off the pump price.

One way to accomplish this is by filling up south of the border. American prices, while far from rock bottom, are currently significantly lower than ours. But it's important to know the exact costs—after all, gas prices here and there fluctuate daily, as so both of our currencies. Plus, we advertise our gas prices in dollars per litre, while the U.S. sells it by the cost per gallon.

That's where the Vancouver-born iPhone app Gas Runner comes in.

It solves all of these little issues in one fell swoop. The simple 99-cent app instantly calculates the real cost of gas in the U.S., converting the units and the currencies.

Designed by Jamie Fraser, this handy tool's one-dollar cost can easily save you a lot more than buck if you're ever in the States. And if not, at least it can remind you how much you're overpaying for gas locally. Yay!

Check out the app in Apple's App Store.
