Vancouver-based startup Kashoo has snagged some talent from Toronto-based Freshbooks.

Kashoo, which makes iPad and online accounting software used in 180 countries by 51,000 startups, freelancers, and accountants, has added Kasey Bayne as Director of Business Development. Kasey was previously the Accounting Ambassador at FreshBooks, which she joined in 2009.

The Canadian startup says that Kasey will run its partnership development strategies and execution as well as identify and develop new channels for business.

“I’m excited,” said Bayne. “Opportunities to join a growing startup at essentially the ground floor don’t come along too often. And I really feel that Kashoo’s belief in the iPad and the cloud as the next great frontier for real small business accounting is spot on. This whole idea of ‘anytime, anywhere connectivity’ is the future and we’re going to lead the way.”

“It pretty much goes without saying that we’re thrilled to be bringing Kasey aboard,” said Kashoo CEO Jim Secord. “Her energy, industry knowledge, passion for working with accountants and bookkeepers, her business development experience... all of it is incredible and fits right in with where we are taking Kashoo: the leader in real, cloud accounting.”

Kasey earned a CPA Practice Advisor Top 40 Under 40 award winner in 2011 and 2012. She was also named one of AccountingToday's "Ones to Watch" in 2011 and 2012.
