Vancouver's Deversus Software unveils Socket, a SaaS that reinvents e-commerce for B2B
Deversus Software, a Vancouver-based software development firm, recently announced its upcoming private beta for Socket, a SaaS product that "reinvents e-commerce for the B2B market."
According to Deversus, Socket address common problems faced by B2B firms, such as commercial software vendors, service providers, and advertisers.
The Problem
These types of companies are seldom able to benefit from online sales via traditional, "add-to-cart" e-commerce methods. The Vancouver company points out that a "combination of complex product and service offerings, and requirements that differ between customers, means most B2B companies must manually generate sales quotes and process orders offline," noting that this is a "highly inefficient way of doing business."
This predicament leaves such companies faced with the choice of developing costly custom software, or otherwise foregoing the online revenue stream entirely.
The Solution
Socket consists of four key components: 1. Configurable online quote forms, 2. Customer-facing instant quote builder, 3. Online payment processing, and 4. Lead management and reporting.
The first allows businesses to create their own templates containing the contents and rules for calculation of their sales quotations. The second utilizes the pre-configured quote forms to allow customers to build their own tailored sales quotes. Quotes are then automatically emailed in PDF format and the third component allows customers to place orders securely online via credit card. Data are collected in a centralized database and Socket's fourth component provides companies with valuable insights into their business.
Invite requests for the private beta are currently being accepted.
