Vancouver's Digital Payment Technologies partners with Streetline

Earlier today Vancouver's Digital Payment Technologies (DPT) and San Francisco-based Streetline announced a new technology partnership that will enable data integration between the two companies’ parking solutions.

Now, municipalities, universities and private operators using pay stations from DPT and guided parking solutions from Streetline can help consumers find parking spaces faster, reduce traffic congestion in urban areas and maximize the efficiency of enforcement operations.

Parking operators can significantly enhance consumer satisfaction by offering them access to high-quality, real-time parking information. Using the Parker smartphone application from Streetline, drivers can quickly locate unoccupied parking spaces. Once parked, consumers conduct their payment transaction at a DPT pay station through a variety of convenient payment options including coins, bills, credit cards, and pay-by-phone. Also, a color graphical display provides clear payment instructions in addition to helpful information about local events and businesses. Consumers can also extend a parking transaction at any pay station or by phone. This scenario presents a start-to-finish experience that takes the frustration out of parking for consumers, and lets them get to their destination more efficiently.

Ironically when Techvibes covered DPT's City of Ventura parking station payment terminal installation in November 2010, we noted that DPT wasn’t the only parking company in the news that week.  IBM’s smartcamp global entrepreneur competition was happening the same week and the competition bestowed the title of “world’s smartest startup” on Streetline.
