Vancouver's First Annual iPhone Forum Kicks Off

Posted by Victoria Revay on Tue, November 24, 2009 9:19 AM · Filed under Vancouver , iPhone · Comments

I'm in a sea of iPhones as I am attending the first annual Vancouver iPhone Forum–sponsored by Bell and organized by BCIT, the CBC and New Media BC– at BCIT's Downtown Campus. Greg Julian Bell and Jonathan Carrigan from the CBC gave the opening keynote about the importance of the conference. Carrigan explained that although the conference is about the iPhone, it's really about learning to leverage the opportunities that an interconnected world creates. How can businesses use mobile technology to help them?

The coolest thing? This event is attempting to make a Guiness Book of World Records. All iPhone users at the conference were asked to go to U Are The Star 2009 and download their app and take a photo. At the end of the day, a mosaic of all the photos taken will be displayed, hopefully creating the largest mosaic photo taken on the iPhone at a conference. Looking forward to Bruce Dagge's keynote starting now and the rest of the day's activities.
