The Vancouver Enterprise Forum is back on track with their “Technology Legends” theme this month with a fireside chat with local tech legend Michael Brown.
Brown has been successfully building technology companies in Vancouver for over 40 years. During this time, he co-founded Ventures West, and contributed to the success of pioneering companies, such as MacDonald, Dettwiler, Ballard Power Systems and Mobile Data International.
Along the way Mike developed an interest in alternative energy which eventually led him to co-found the alternative energy venture fund Chrysalix. He is currently active with a range of emerging local technology companies such as D-Wave Systems and General Fusion. Mike also is the founder of Fuel Cells Canada and is a director at Sustainable Development Technology Canada.
Todd Farrell of Growthworks will moderate a fireside chat about how building world changing technology companies requires bringing a group of people with very diverse skill sets, opinions and motivations together in a cohesive way. Not an easy task but something Brown has plenty of experience with.
This event takes place on Tuesday, March 24th from 5:30-8:30pm at the Vancity Theatre on Seymour Street. Be sure to register online in advance as this event will likely sell-out with VEF's popularity at an all-time high.
