VEF Momentum on Building the Web's Best Entertainment-Based Community Site
How do you build a company focused on creating enterprise value? How do you avoid the common entrepreneurs’ pitfalls?
Andy Liu, CEO and Founder of BuddyTV, will be answering these questions and talking about the Top 10 mistakes entrepreneurs make at the next VEF Momentum event.
Based out of Seattle, BuddyTV transforms television from a very passive and non-social experience to an online community where viewers can talk to each other and enjoy fun games while watching their favourite shows.
Liu brings deep experience in building companies, site optimization, community building, and product development. BuddyTV received over $9 Million in funding from Charles River Ventures, Madrona Venture and Gemstar-TV Guide International. In 2010, it won Lead411’s “Hottest Seattle Company” award.
Prior to BuddyTV, Liu served as President and CEO of NetConversions prior to its sale to aQuantive and served as VP and GM of its Site Optimization unit. As an advocate of entrepreneurship, Liu is also an angel investor and has started non-profit organizations in developing countries. Liu holds an MBA from Wharton and was named one of Puget Sound Business Journal’s top 40 under 40.
