Victoria's Seeker Solutions announced today its official release of Sprout 1.0, a free, personalized news aggregator software that allows users to obtain the latest news and blogs online tailored to their unique and individual preferences.
Seeker Solutions’ unique relationship-based software engine that powers Sprout allows users to easily access a wide-range of content from thousands of news sources and blogs. Once Sprout is downloaded to the user’s computer, users are able to begin teaching the Sprout interface what they find relevant by reading and browsing through 500,000 articles.
While Sprout content has an 'infotainment' feel similar to StumbleUpon, it skips the social crowdsourcing model and recommends news and blog content that is relevant to you based on what it learns about your preferences.
The powerful relevancy engine behind Sprout appears to have wide-reaching applications anywhere data is overwhelming. No doubt the next step for Seeker Solutions is to license the technology and apply it to more important problems than what the casual surfer is consuming online.
