With VinoCamp fast approaching next month in Vancouver, I thought it was a good time to mention a wine-related start-up that we've been tracking here at Techvibes. Simply put, Montreal-based Vinivino is an online sommelier designed to help wine drinkers make better wine selections. They came out of Beta on Monday of this week and have officially launched.
Vinivino members can review the wines they tasted, see their friends and other member’s reviews and make new drinking buddies with similar tastes. Vinivino also crowdsources wine recommendations with a Wine of the Week and the Top rated wines list which are calculated in real time based on popularity and rating.
Considering the online success of Gary Vaynerchuk and Wine Library TV, Vinivino may be on to something.
