Wantering Acquires StyledOn, Launches New Online Community

Wantering today announced the launch of the Wantering Insider Network, an invite-only community of style bloggers.

The Wantering Insider Network, known as WIN, integrates the company's product data technology and social algorithm with digital publishers. The launch of WIN comes alongside Wantering's acquisition of StyledOn, a social shopping community. Wantering says it wants to be a leader in fashion search, discovery, and shoppable content technology.

The Canadian startup says that by intelligently routing traffic between the publisher and retailer using "WINKS," an extension of their social- powered fashion search engine data, Wantering "can help bloggers and retailers understand who is interested in their brand story."

"By combining StyledOn's fashion community with Wantering's technology and product data we can create far more engaging shoppable editorial content and offer a fashion discovery experience that's heads and shoulders above the competition," said Matt Friesen, CEO of Wantering.

Wantering’s strategy is to combine expert curation with shoppable product information. WIN "represents an important step towards connecting the fragmented pieces of content and commerce," according to the company.

Leora Kadisha, StyledOn’s founder and CEO, will join Wantering as VP Business Development.

StyledOn was backed by Omninet Capital, who will also be investing in Wantering.
