Vancouver’s Wantering announced late last week the closing of a $470,000 seed round led by Yaletown Ventures.

The annonucement was timed with the startup's public launch after completing six months of private beta testing of its social web fashion recommendation platform.

Wantering turns the expertise and energy found in blogs and fashion social networks into an easy-to-browse digest of the most interesting products on the web. Their slogan is "people powered shopping."

With Wantering, there's no "Following" list to setup. No bookmarklets and no pressure to share. Just a steady stream of awesome items delivered to you daily, the startup says.

Wantering was cofounded by Matt Friesen, Nicholas Molnar, Nick Cairns, and Jesse Sherlock. The startup graduated from Vancouver accelerator GrowLab’s spring 2012 cohort.
