AlwaysOn has announced their second annual OnMobile 100 list and two Canadian companies were acknowledged.
The OnMobile 100 list identifies the top 100 private companies—plus 20 to watch—that are "bringing their disruptive skills into the mobile space, turning smartphone and tablet users into sophisticated, savvy consumer and business users as well as providing huge value-creation opportunities for investors and entrepreneurs."
Waterloo's Kik Interactive were selected for the Top 100 and Toronto's Admeris Payment Systems made their "watch" list.
Kik is not new to lists. Founder and CEO Ted Livingston was selected by Maclean's magazine as a Canadian under the age of 25 worth keeping an eye on. Based in Waterloo, Kik is a tech startup most famous for its mobile messenger app and more recently Clik, which turns your smartphone into a television remote.
Admeris Payment Systems is a full-service provider of credit, debit, loyalty and gift card payment processing solutions, in partnership with the world’s largest financial institutions and technology partners.
