Waterloo's Research in Motion impresses with high ranking in this year's Profit 200
Although Waterloo's Research In Motion has taken a lot of flack this past year for what some investors and analysts call a doomed companies, its financial fundamentals appear rock solid.
Enough so, in fact, to rank 68th in Profit Magazine's Profit 200, which lists Canada's 200 fastest-growing companies based on five-year revenue growth.
RIM earned its spot with an impressive five-year growth rate of 864 percent, increasing revenue from about $2 billion in 2005 to $20 billion in 2010, and raising its employee count from less than 5,000 in 2005 to nearly 19,000 in 2010.
Since 1993, the Waterloo tech titan has grown a staggering 1,367,000 percent.
The company will be announcing its quarterly finances at the end of this month. Its stock is down more than six percent today.
