Wavefront, Sierra Wireless, and Rogers Launch Canada's First Machine-to-Machine Accelerator Program

Posted by Techvibes NewsDesk

Wavefront, in conjunction with Sierra Wireless and Rogers, has announced Canada's first machine-to-machine accelerator program. The M2M accelerator is designed to "facilitate innovation and accelerate commercialization for businesses and technologies in the machine-to-machine space."

Wavefront says that "now is the time" to capitalize on machine-to-machine, noting that M2M services revenue is expected to reach $35 billion globally in 2016 according to Juniper Research. Its accelerator will feature Rogers wireless connectivity, Sierra Wireless' AirVantage M2M platform, and training, roundtables, and networking events.

“As M2M grows to an estimated 50 billion connected devices by 2020, M2M will impact every sector of our economy, providing greater visibility to critical data and streamlining and automating the operations of businesses and consumer lifestyles,” says Hazim Sharif Eldin, Wavefront’s M2M Accelerator Program Manager.  “M2M is one of the fastest growing wireless technology sectors in Canada and around the world and now is the time for Canadian innovators to join the next big thing: the internet of things.”
