With the 9th instalment of webcom-Montréal wrapped up and in the books; and attendees learning plenty about business, marcom, solutions and mobility; the planning has already begun for the 10th edition of the conference.

Over 800 people attended the 9th annual event, and were treated to 30 sessions, a webCamp, six case studies and 42 speakers, including keynotes from Jared Spool, founder of User Interface Engineering, and Marsha Collier, an author and expert on online sales communities. As well, plenty of viewers tuned in on UStream to watch the event’s live stream, and Twitter was buzzing with posts using the #webcomMT hashtag.

Two Quebec technology pioneers, Patrick Lauzon and René Barsalo [pictured], were honoured with awards at webcom. Lauzon (president and CEO of Mediative, an integrated digital marketing company) and Barsalo (a graphic, interface and experience designer for 30 years) were honoured for their years of leadership in the Quebec new tech industry.

The 10th edition of webcom-Montréal will be held on May 11, 2011, and which will once feature international case studies, panels and free special conferences with leading experts. Web best practices and new trends will be the main focus under four different themes; namely Business 2.0, Marcom 2.0, Solutions 2.0, as well as another to be announced next spring.
