WebM Project launched at Google I/O

WebM was formally launched today at Google's I/O conference in San Francisco.

What is WebM?  Fristly, WebM is supported by Mozilla, Google, Opera and more than 40 other content publishers.  The purpose is to develop an open source video format for the web that is open to everyone and anyone.  

So not only will users be able to create and watch videos.  They will now be able to build the very platform they use to create and watch these videos.
