Users contacting the CCTS skyrocketed 150 percent from last year, from 17,400 to 43,600 contacts. Officially filed complaints didn't jump so dramatically, but they were still up 16 percent, from 3,200 to 3,800.

Users complained most about billing and contracts—80 percent of complaints involved such (no surprise). In second came cellphone service (just over half of complaints involved such), and in third came objections about the wireless industry in general, with 38 percent.
