My daughter is now 4 and she has been on the Mac since she was 5 months. I guess she was caught up in it’s beautiful design. Both her and my 2 year old are on Apple products throughout most of the day. It could be working on the MacBook, flipping through books and videos on the iPad, or playing games on the iPhone. All they know is Apple makes things easier for them. Our inspiration for Storypanda came from observing how my kids were intuitively in touch with the iPad.
Aside from his marketing savvy, rebel-motivational attitude, and leadership skills, what I take away most is that he inspired “design-think” into a new generation of people. Simplicity, usability, and experience. These are things everyone will now apply to their professions, whether they are building software, designing homes, finding new medicines etc. I can bet that a lot of the 21st century problems of environment, economics, illnesses will be solved by people who were somehow influenced by Steve Jobs. It is because of him I’d like my kids to not become doctors or lawyers but designers who can shape and influence their environment.
Today his legacy is the product innovations that he brought forth. Fifty years from now it will be the generation of leaders he inspired to make an impact on the world. RIP Steve Jobs. Long Live Steve Jobs.
