Snowboarders and skiers on world-class Whistler Blackcomb will soon be vaulted into the future when an impressive new feature is added to the current Whistler Blackcomb Live app—the functionality to use a mobile phone as a lift ticket, thanks to Resort Technology Partners.
The existing app already has lots of cool features, such as GPS trail maps through which users can track their own maximum speeds and vertical distances travelled, plus standard things like social media integration.
"Developing a mobile app that allows skiers and boarders to share their on-mountain adventures with friends, including the number of days skied, vertical distance, top speed and great photos in one app, was a natural for RTP," explains Michael McDermott, RTP's senior vice president. "When Whistler Blackcomb wanted a mobile solution to digitally connect their resort with their passionate fan base, it was a perfect match to launch this concept."
But this next feature is perhaps the biggest of all: "The industry leading mobile ticketing functionality is the premier function we're excited to introduce in the near future."
