WINBC extends applications for 2010 Showcase

Last month we wrote about a WINBC and New Media BC's joint plans for a Wireless and New Media Showcase to highlight innovative wireless and new media technologies during the 2010 Winter Games.

The Wireless and New Media Showcase is looking for: existing applications and services from private sector companies and educational institutions that can be combined or integrated to create a comprehensive experience for locals, visitors, athletes, media and sponsors. The idea is to keep costs down, minimize the risk and keep it as simple as possible by using services that would need very little customization and re-formatting to be integrated into a converged and comprehensive user experience.

The new program has been an incredible success with over 50 companies applying to date. Don't worry if you didn't manage to get your application in, WINBC has extended the deadline to March 31st to give the community more time to apply. Their next meeting is on April 7th from 2:00pm - 5:00pm at the 2010 Commerce Cente but be sure to get your application in before the end of the month.
