Canada's newest entrant in the wireless space, Wind Mobile, has allied itself with movie and game rental chain Blockbuster Canada and will begin sales from outlets in Toronto and Calgary soon.
Wind Mobile said today it has begun providing information on its mobile phone services initially in 13 stores in Toronto and three in Calgary, with sales set to start some time in the near future.
Wind Mobile's parent company Globalive received word on Friday that it can begin operating within days after Industry Minister Tony Clement overturned a CRTC decision that preventing the Toronto-based company from launching.
Initially 16 Blockbuster locations will house a "store within a store" featuring Wind products however Blockbuster Canada has 458 stores across the country.
