With Demo Day One Week Away, GrowLab Announces Farm Team

by Rob Lewis | Startups

GrowLab will be showcasing their current cohort in less than one week as part of a packed GROW Week. It's a chance for GrowLab's second cohort to show off their progress from four hard months of work in front investors from across North America. Register online to attend.

But it looks like there is more brewing in the lab than just the current crop of startups. Yesterday GrowLab announced a new opportunity for entrepreneurs in the startup lifecycle.

The GrowLab Farm Team provides guidance and mentorship to talented entrepreneurs who are not yet ready for an accelerator program. Selected companies receive funding, office space, and access to GrowLab’s four founding partners over the course of six months.

GrowLab’s Farm Team fits snugly in the gap that some entrepreneurs would experience between ideation and experimentation, and being venture-capital ready.

Three local Vancouver companies are currently taking part in the first Farm Team session: KarmaHire, Weeve, and Battlefy, the latter of which was profiled yesterday on Techvibes. Time will tell if GrowLab's Farm Team consists of career minor-leaguers or blue-chip prospects.
