Yaletown Venture Partners announced this morning that Salil Munjal has joined the firm as Partner to work alongside co-founding Partners Hans Knapp, Mike Satterfield and Kirk Washington.

"I'm excited to be joining the team at Yaletown Venture Partners," said Munjal. "With their recently closed fund of over $100 million, an unparalleled local-market investment network of angels, entrepreneurs and its Special Limited Partners teamed with their own extensive operational expertise, Yaletown has become the preferred venture partner in the region."

Munjal brings 18 years of senior executive, private equity and public board experience to the Yaletown team. He is both an experienced technology investor and operator, having served as a partner at Penfold Capital, a leading merchant bank, and as Chief Operating Officer at Leitch Technology, which he helped build into a global technology company (NASDAQ and Toronto Stock Exchange) that was acquired by Harris Corporation (NYSE) in a landmark transaction.

Munjal's partnership announcement is also the first formal announcement of Yaletown's new $110 million fund for clean tech and IT investments in the region.

Founded in 2002, Yaletown is led by a team that brings together an extensive network of industry relationships and more than 100 years collective experience building and financing emerging technology companies.
