Young Business Owners: Compete for $100,000 BDC Innovation Award

Posted by Techvibes NewsDesk

Are you an innovative young entrepreneur? You have until April 8 to apply for the Business Development Bank of Canada's $100,000 Grand Prize for Innovation and your chance to become the winner of the 2012 BDC Young Entrepreneur Award contest.

BDC’s new approach to this annual event will see Canada’s young entrepreneurs send a video submission to share their plans for an innovation project designed to drive their business to new growth.  Applications for this year’s edition of the BDC Young Entrepreneur Award can be submitted online between March 5 and April 8.

Contest details are available through the dedicated 2012 BDC Young Entrepreneur Award microsite or on BDC’s Facebook page, BDC Entrepreneur.

Eleven panels of judges—one for each province and one for the combined territories—will review the submissions and select 11 finalists to compete in the next round of the contest.

From May 2 to 22, Canadians will be able to vote for their favourite innovation project and receive contest updates on BDC’s Facebook page.  The 2012 BDC Young Entrepreneur Award winner will be announced on May 28. Canadians can also follow the contest on Twitter at @BDC_News, under the hashtag #BDCYEA2012 and on BDC’s LinkedIn page.
