Earlier this year we covered Trade Nations, by Z2Live and Charlottetown's Bight Games.  A real-time simulation game, Trade Nations allows you to be the mayor of your very own virtual village.  Now it seems, Z2Live feel that building virtual villages is just simply not enough, and have moved on to helping out real ones.  The initiative, named Play2Change, focuses on helping bring clean water to villages in need through contributions from its dedicated user base.

“Today we pledge our support to charity: water,” said David Bluhm, CFO of Z2Live, “We, like you, support this organization’s simple mission, to bring clean and safe water to people in developing nations”. “Through your desire to bring positive change and Z2Live’s Trade Nations, we are helping bring clean water to those who desperately need it.”

100% of the profit from the in-app purchase of a Trade Nations wishing well will help build real wells in a village that is in need of one.

To help, simply download Trade Nations for iPhone or iPad and buy a wishing well for 95 Magic Beans (~$5).  Alternately, you can donate directly to charity: water.
