Zynga is crossing the border again. Today they announced that they have acquired the Five Mobile team. In addition to the team, Zynga is also acquiring certain assets and Intellectual Property developed by Five Mobile.

Renamed Zynga Toronto, the Five Mobile team has worked closely with some of the largest media and technology companies in North America across a multitude of platforms and handsets.

Zynga Toronto will focus on advancing multiple initiatives within Zynga mobile. Mobile industry veterans and Five Mobile founders Ameet Shah, Jeff Zakrzewski, Oliver Tabay, and Troy Hubman will all join the Zynga team. Shah will head up the Zynga Toronto studio.

This is not Zynga's first manhunt north of the border. In January they acquired social web browser Flock which had a 40-member engineering office in Victoria, BC.
