Vantrix

Vantrix

Vantrix was incorporated in April 2004, as a spin-off of its parent company, VoiceAge Corporation, a recognized global leader in the area of low-bit rate audio compression.

The initial SPOTxde® product was launched in November 2001 as the first ever 3G-compatible multimedia content creation software application, specifically designed for the NTT DoCoMo partner community. The SPOTxde core engine continues to enable content providers to encode and distribute rich content, combining audio and video, such as movie trailers, music files, customized advertising and news highlights to Internet portals and mobile devices. Rich media content generated with SPOTxde PRO is designed to flow on the NTT DoCoMo FOMA i-motion 3G service.

Certain key elements in the SPOTxde product line were born out of the VoiceAge portfolio of over 500 patents in audio and multimedia compression technology; VoiceAge relies on its dedicated research team to integrate all the inventions of ACELP®, the patented core audio codec technology present in AMR-WB, AMR-NB, and VMR-WB, among others. These various codecs represent a deployment in well over one billion mobile phones. Moreover, since 1994, ACELP has become a de facto standard on the Internet (present on over 500 million PCs worldwide) in the area of voice applications, and is integrated by companies such as Microsoft (within Windows Media® Player) and RealNetworks (within their RealOne® Player).
