iNovia Capital
iNovia Capital is one of Canada’s premier managers of seed and early-stage venture capital funds, with operations in both Eastern and Western Canada. We combine access to innovative technologies, deal-structuring experience and a rigorous investment philosophy to build successful companies that deliver returns.
Whether in information technology, life sciences or cleantech, we seek out companies that have global ambitions and proven management teams, along with products that have a quick path to market. We aim to ensure that the key elements are in place early on, so that each successive round of financing can quickly build tangible value.
Part of what differentiates iNovia Capital is our privileged access to breakthrough innovations through our close relationships with some of North America’s leading academic institutions, research bodies and technology transfer offices. We work closely with these organizations, in some cases since 2001, to identify technologies that can be successfully commercialized.
In our management teams, we look for seasoned entrepreneurs with proven track records in identifying potential, creating value and generating returns. We look for hands-on individuals, with a talent for structuring deals and quickly identifying go-to-market strategies.
Our investment approach is readily encapsulated. Knowing the importance of management, we strive to ensure that our companies are lead by first-rate entrepreneurs whose performance we assess regularly. We aim to build value quickly, having identified potential exit strategies at the outset. We are furthermore firmly convinced of the need to build globally successful companies and bring international co-investors into our deals.
iNovia Capital has over $158M under management across two seed and early stage funds (MSBi Investment Fund, L.P. & iNovia Investment Fund II, L.P.) and MSBi Valorisation.
